The newly renovated John Hay Library at Brown University reopened with the start of the 2014 fall semester. The Selldorf design reestablishes the original proportions, clarifies the once confusing circulation and welcomes visitors with a more gracious entry sequence. New furnishings recall the disciplined formality of the original design but also have diverse configurations including both tables and lounge seating to provide a more flexible range of environments for study. To make the space compatible with 21st century technology, electrical and data upgrades are implemented throughout. See The Brown Daily Herald for community feedback.
