Boesky West is a new art gallery on Aspen’s Main Street in the former cabin of James “Horsethief” Kelly, an active photographer during the late 1800s. The 3,000 sf project updates and expands the original structure built in 1886, converting it into a welcoming, day-lit gallery and event space, office, and apartment. The New York-based gallery envisions this expansion to provide more opportunities for experimentation and collaboration between artists, curators, art historians, critics, and other members of the community in the vibrant Aspen landscape.
