Selldorf Architects transformed an 11,000 sf vintage automobile sales showroom in a 1930s Spanish Colonial Revival building into the gallery’s second LA location. The renovated building features 6,000 sf of exhibition space framed by exposed wood bow trusses and newly polished concrete floors. Large storefront windows highlight the work on view and welcome the community. On track for LEED Platinum certification, a new state-of-the-art climate control system and natural daylight, from refurbished and new skylights, make the gallery uniquely sustainable. Selldorf collaborated with Los Angeles based ERAS who are the Executive Architects for the project.

The Westside location will complement the gallery’s Downtown LA Arts District historic venue, completed by Selldorf Architects in March 2016. Coinciding with Frieze LA Week, Hauser & Wirth inaugurates their expansion in Los Angeles with “People Are Strange” an exhibition by artist George Condo.
