Annabelle Selldorf to Lecture at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP)

On April 25th, Annabelle Selldorf will be giving a lecture at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at the Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium. Part of the Glanzer-Curtis Family Lecture Series, the talk will highlight the office’s recent work including the Frick Collection, Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility, Luma Arles, and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.

Annabelle Selldorf to Give the Annual Paul S. Byard Memorial Lecture at Columbia GSAPP

On April 15, Annabelle Selldorf will be giving the annual Paul S. Byard Memorial Lecture at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Titled “Building Continuity,” the lecture will shed light on the office’s approach to working with historic buildings, understanding materials and their history, and balancing restoration with new interventions.

 

 

Introducing Liz: DC’s Whitman-Walker Project Gets its Name

Whitman-Walker Health System’s redevelopment in Washington, DC, is now officially known as Liz. Named after HIV activist and actress Elizabeth Taylor, the Selldorf Architects-designed mixed-use project is a joint venture between Whitman-Walker and Fivesquares Development and is scheduled for completion in June of this year.

 

SELLDORF ARCHITECTS SELECTED TO DESIGN INTERPRETATION CENTER AT FORBIDDEN CITY’S QIANLONG GARDEN

Selldorf Architects is truly honored to be working with World Monuments Fund (WMF) on the design of an Interpretation Center at the Qianlong Garden within the iconic Forbidden City in Beijing, China. The new Visitor’s Center will be located in an existing, restored structure within the Qianlong Garden and will grant unprecedented public access to the site.

Gowanus CSO facility presented at Community Board 6 Meeting

Alongside the Department of Environmental Protection, Hazen and Sawyer Engineers, and DLANDstudio, Selldorf Architects presented updated designs for The Gowanus CSO (Combined Sewage Overflow) facility and head house at the Community Board 6 Parks/Recreation/Environmental Protection Committee meeting on Wednesday October 17th.

 

Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego Breaks Ground on Selldorf-Designed Expansion Project

Selldorf-designed High Museum of Art Reinstallation Opens to the Public

October 17, 2018

Selldorf Architects has designed a major reinstallation of the permanent collection of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The project included a renovation of all aspects of the gallery design including lighting. The reinstallation encompasses all seven of the High’s curatorial departments and is the first comprehensive revision of the gallery spaces since the High’s 2005 expansion.

Selldorf-designed Swiss Institute Opens its Doors

We are thrilled to announce the official opening of the Swiss Institute, which inaugurated its Selldorf-designed new space with the exhibition READYMADES BELONG TO EVERYONE. Built in 1952 this building on 38 St. Marks Pl in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan was purpose built as a bank. Selldorf Architects did full interior and exterior renovations to accommodate the Swiss Institute and their unique programming.

Frick Expansion Project Design Announcement

We are excited to share Selldorf Architect’s design for the expansion and enhancement of the Frick Collection. Honoring the architectural legacy and unique character of the Frick, the plan provides unprecedented access to the original 1914 home of Henry Clay Frick, preserves the intimate visitor experience and beloved galleries for which the Frick is known, and restores the 70th Street Garden.
