For the first time, the award recipient is a collaborative project, conceived by the 14+ Foundation, Selldorf Architects, and artist Rashid Johnson with the new contribution of Design Miami commissioned furniture by Christ & Gantenbein. Selldorf Architects has been selected to design the 10,000 sf gallery for the new Hauser & Wirth Hong Kong location. The gallery space will be spread across two stories of the H Queen’s development in the Central district of Hong Kong. This marks the seventh gallery Selldorf Architects has designed for Hauser & Wirth including locations in New York, London, Zurich and Los Angeles. The Hauser & Wirth Hong Kong gallery is set to open in Spring of 2018.
We are very proud to share our design concept for the Clandon Park International Design Competition. Our team includes Cowie Montgomery Architects, Studio Otero Pailos, Arup, Vogt Landscape Architects, and Martin Ashley Architects. The scheme honors Clandon Park’s rich architectural and cultural history while providing an opportunity for a dynamic and transporting visitor experience. The final concepts of all six competitors can be seen here and will also be on display at Clandon Park from August 23rd to October 1st, before the final jury selection this fall.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ettore Sottsass, LE STANZE DEL VETRO is displaying 200 of the Italian architect’s glass and crystal pieces. The exhibition, titled “Ettore Sottsass: The Glass”, was curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, Director of the Institute of Art History of Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and designed by Selldorf Architects. The show is on San Giorgio Maggiore Island in Venice and will be on view from April 10th to July 30th.
Selldorf Architects is designing the new Esther Schipper gallery in Berlin’s Potsdamer Strasse gallery district. Located in a former printing and warehouse facility, the new gallery will offer 5,800 sf exhibition space split into a large primary room and a smaller, 1,500 sf space. The inaugural exhibition on April 28 during Berlin’s Gallery Weekend will showcase works by Angela Bulloch and Anri Sala.
