Frick Madison, The Frick Collection‘s new temporary home on Madison Avenue, is now open. Selldorf Architects collaborated with the Frick’s curatorial team and their long-time exhibition designer Stephen Saitas on this unique opportunity to view highlights from the collection chronologically by region as opposed to the customary domestic presentation style seen in the East 70th Street location.
The Marcel Breuer designed building at 945 Madison Avenue, originally The Whitney Museum of American Art and more recently home to The Met Breuer, is a stunning modernist structure that offers a radically different spatial framing and visitor experience of the Frick’s artworks. Frick Madison will operate for approximately two years while the historic building renovation and expansion takes place on 70th Street. Timed tickets for Frick Madison are available through the Frick’s website (link here).
