Selldorf Architects is designing a 310,000 SF mixed-use building as part of Brookfield Properties’ second phase of The Yards, a new waterfront development along the Anacostia River in Washington, DC. The nine-story commercial office building includes street front retail, below grade parking, and stepped terraces with accessible green roofs. The massing balances the higher urban density with walkable, human scaled connections to the surrounding Capitol Riverfront neighborhood and Yards Place, the new pedestrian focused main street connecting Navy Yard Metro to the Diamond Teague Park.
